Absence

It's hard to tell when there's an absence of something in your life. Or, it could be completely easy to tell... It's up to you, the reader; I'm not gonna go out of my way to convince you of tit or tat, just read this post and leave a comment lol.

So speaking of tits and tats. Not really.

Anyway, if you let go of something, consciously, it's going to be obvious that it's not there. If you spend a lot of time away from something, your computer, let's say, and come back to it a whole year later and just see the stuff on your desktop... you forget you hid that hilarious file away in that 15th folder inside My Documents. You could, in reality, have as much fun as you would normally have had in the past year without a computer if you would just spend your time clicking on the stuff that's right in front of your face. That stuff is always there. Waiting to be clikced - to be shown that, yes, as the one who holds the mouse in this relationship, I care.

Get the analogy? No? Thought not.

If we want to see the past, that year-old file 15 folders deep (or that friend you havent' talkd to for a year, a week, a month, a decade, whatever) you've got to dig deep yourself. To measure how deep you dig, though, is up to you. Over time, hard drives and memory sticks can fail. We forget the treasures of the past. But, don't let something so miniscule as a recipe for carrot cake get you down and out - reach. There's always some other recipe, some other way of getting to what you want.

Eventually, you may not want what you want. But at least you tried, right?

Life's about the journey. Don't be absent.
