Hi!

I'm still here! Thanks, Amanda, for prodding me onward to post again. Like always. :) Except this time there are no moolattes. :(... someday soon, perhaps.

So... where to begin... There's so much time and so little to talk about! Wait... scratch that, reverse it. Well, start with the present I guess.

At the present I'm doing research for my music history class (bunch of stuff due on Monday) and listening to Beethoven's Overture to a piece called Leonore... Maybe not a real popular piece, but there's good stuff in it. Had a conducting test today, and they put the videos online for a change... I don't like watching myself, or listening to myself recorded. I over-scrutinize it very easily and end up getting upset with myself because 1) I know I do that, and 2) it feels like I could've done whatever I just saw/heard better. And there's no point in thinking that (in this case anyway).

So ! How 'bout that election. Last time there was an election of sorts, I sorta wrote about it on this blog, and about some other things as well but not too much election stuff got in here. Regardless of what your opinion was on the candidates, it truly was an historic election no matter what either side thinks. Although, it's pretty obvious, at least the day after, that there will still be work to do to get over the ignorance and pettiness of the campaigning. Both McCain and Obama worked hard to make themselves look better than their opponent, and rightly so (it is a race after all). But, the only race the country should be caring about now is the human race... it's sorta in dire straits n'at.

Another point of interest in my life: kinda homesick! For the first time in a while. Maybe ever (except for choir tour... :P). But it's good, becuase I'll be home in a few weeks. Music is great and all, and I love the people here, but I just need a vacation. Or a nice fall break. One thing's for sure, though: it'll be interesting to hear what my family (and others at home) think about the election... I guess these two paragraphs run together.

I just got some music I ordered that I want to do with the choir @ Stagnes next summer - some Moses Hogan, and one other one that I can't remember who did it, but it's called Thou Shalt Know Him When He Comes.... not sure how doable it is with our choristers but we'll give it the old college try.

.......Don't know what else I should write about! I'm gonna see if this thing's done printing yet (nope.) and then maybe do some more research. Or sleep. Or eat a Snickers (thanks mom!). OH YEAH MARCHING BAND IS (or had BETTER be) DONE ON SATURDAY! annnnnd Marcus and Austin are coming up. Should be a good time.
