Can I tell you something?

Uhhhhh okay. Here goes. Maybe in a series of questions. All rhetorical. Go.

America was based on freedom, yes? Mostly, freedom of religion/worship, right?

So, why can't we build a mosque in downtown manhattan? Is it because of a bad placement, that maybe because a terrorist group that called themselves Muslim but were really an extremist group of Muslims who have been denounced repeatedly by Muslims the world over bombed the buildilngs that were previously there, killing thousands of not only American-Americans but probably Muslim-Americans too?


Let's not forget: we call ourselves Christians and then we *cough* hate people of faiths very near to our own, based on reeeeeeeeeeal shady "facts".
What is it in human nature that allows us to imbue God with our own hatreds and fears and then use our faith as a stick to beat up on each other?
