I pose a question:
Is it better to NOT know, or is it better to know and be hurt?
Is ignorance bliss?
....
I would counter by saying, "The unexamined life is not worth living", but it's so cliche. Then again a lot of things are cliche but we take them as truths anyway.
I dont' care about specific situations, I care about generalities: would you like to know, or not?

I buy it. However, we can't help but think about things in situations. Many times it hurts to know the truth, but would you rather be fooled? Looking on back on things that I've been ignorant of and then later learned about, I get mad at myself for being so confident about "knowing" something while really not knowing the truth.
Yes, I would rather be told the truth no matter how it could hurt.!
