Hey all. If anyone still periodically haunts this old place, I'm still alive and well. Seriously... lol. School just got in the way a bit, as it tends to do.
Not really sure of how to do this anymore! HA! Well. Start back from the beginning- a very good place to start. My last post was on a ........ wednesday? MORNING??! That's just the weirdest thing ever. Why was I awake that early? I didn't have field this semester, nor did I have gumption, most of the time. I really took this time to slack, largely citing the fact that I knew what I was doing. Now that the semester's over and I see how much I could have done, mmmm, probably will be pushing myself harder next semester. Although there does come a time when you can't do everything at once, like I used to be good at doing. Maybe I am finally able to see which parts of my life I should prioritize instead of trying to be, to borrow a phrase from high school, "well-rounded". I'm not talking about losing weight, which would be nice, but focusing in on one or two areas at a time instead of twelve or thirty. It's a hard thing to do, espeically for me, the Guy Who Thinks In Webs, but it might be interesting...
I got my Christmas shopping done last week, last WEDNESDAY! (I'm starting to see a trend..) but I also went yesterday and finished up a few things. Had a gig in the mall yesterday with a bunch of brass people, and Monday was in Little Washington PA playing at the mall and a house party -- got to play with some really wonderful trombonists and musicians. Great times.
Finally went to Joe's last night for the first time since Thanksgiving.. was supposed to play Risk (this would've been Risk 7 or 8, i think) but we played around with music instead. Tim was there, we recorded some stuff. Reminded me of the TEETH phase we had two (?!) years ago - I'm so glad we did that. It's not often a group of friends gets together and makes a musical. And then puts it on stage. Twice. In one year, one semester. ................... Wow.
Junior recital is coming up, March 28th 2010 @ 4pm. Ali, Margo, and I. :) Instead of doing the piece I thought I was writing, I have another idea. And it is GORGEOUS. I think. I'll have to run it by the others... but I think they'll go for it.
Welp that's enough for now. I'm listening to Aaron Copland's Buckaroo Holiday from Rodeo. He's really good. OH THAT REMINDS ME I PASSED THE HISTORY COMP THE FIRST TIME!! Wooooooo hoo. Done with that crap.
